Brand Constraints
With two aging products, and a lucrative carrier deal on the line, we were asked to come up with a combined and revamped parenting app for all families. Verizon Smart Family was a chance to breathe new life into our products with original research, improved design thinking, new features and a modernized and dynamic UI for our 2 million paying customers.
To ensure consistent visual language, Verizon has very firm brand guidelines and a rigorous approval process. During our design phase, they were also in the middle of re-doing their brand, and thus required our team to collaborate intensely with their team to develop components, icons and visual patterns that did not yet exist in their guidelines.
